Some of those immigrants came from Yemen after the collapse of Ma'areb Dam, and of whom the Sharqis tribes descend.Geographical Overview:Emirate of Fujairah lies on the eastern part of the Arabian peninsula, bordered from the east by Omani coast, from the west by emirates of Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah, from the south Kalba and it faces Omani coast. Fujairah extends 70 km. on the Gulf of Oman from Ousla village to Dibba to the north.1. Total area of Fujairah is 1450 sq.km., made of varying heights mountains and hills, plains, cast, oasis and desert areas. 2. The old fort in Fujairah's historic town which is approximately 300 years old and the many small wind towers still standing in neighboring villages as proud reminders of the town's recent past. However, archaeological ations have shown that man's presence in the region actually dates back to the Iron Age.
