Ritver Varnish Matt is a versatile topcoat varnish based on a suitable drying oil alkyd resin. Designed as a general-purpose finish, it offers excellent durability and can withstand a wide range of temperatures. This matt varnish enhances the aesthetic appeal of wood surfaces and is compatible with alkyd-based stains, delivering good adhesion and a refined matt gloss after drying.For optimal results on wood, ensure the surface is clean and free from contaminants. It is recommended to treat the wood first with Ritver Wood Preservative before varnishing. Apply one coat of wood preservative, allow it to dry, and then apply one to two coats of Ritver Varnish Matt. Application can be done via spray, brush, or roller, ensuring even coverage. Avoid applying on perpetually wet surfaces or large cavities.Proper ventilation is essential to aid drying, and application should be avoided under high humidity conditions (>95%) or when the surface temperature is less than 3°C above the dew point to prevent defects.Application is suitable by conventional roller or spray, with recommended spray parameters of 2000–2500 psi for airless spray or 50–60 psi for conventional spray, using a nozzle size of 0.015–0.018 inches. To improve ease of application, 5–10% Ritver General Purpose Thinner can be added, but avoid over-dilution to prevent sagging and runs.
