Activated Alumina is a highly porous form of aluminum oxide shaped into hard white spheres. Each tiny bead packs up to 415 square meters of internal surface area per gram. That enormous surface area works like a sponge, trapping water vapor, acids, fluoride, and many other contaminants, while the bead itself remains solid in both liquids and gases. After service, the beads can be heated to drive off the captured material and then reused, providing long life and low operating costs.
